FreeCulture.org is not just an American thing; it spans across national borders. We have contacts in Croatia, Poland, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Japan, Germany, Brazil, and South America. We have chapters in Canada, Peru, and South Africa. Creative Commons is very active in South Africa, and open source software is very active in Brazil.
This summer, the iCommons iSummit is in Rio de Janiero. FreeCulture.org needs to have a strong presence there.
This is about a collective culture. We need to preserve this collective culture, and preserve access to it.
