Issues in the 2007 Florida legislature

I want to take a few posts to discuss some issues pending in the 2007 session of the Florida legislature.

The 2007 legislative session began on March 6 and will sit until May 4. In addition, Florida has a new governor, who took office on January 2. There are a number of subjects being discussed in the Capitol that may be of interest to our members.

As the session moves forward, I’ll try to post updates. To follow the news, I recommend the Florida Politics blog or Capital Report (which is available via podcast). Source material at Florida Senate, Florida House, and Governor’s office.

In future posts, I’ll discuss 100ideas.org, actions and statements by Gov. Crist, and other bills and proposals.
