Free Culture is organizing Open Art, an art show to be exhibited locally next spring. We are seeking submissions of Creative Commons-licensed photography, digital or visual artwork in any format. Official rules are here; deadline for submissions is Monday, Oct. 16. Submit your work today!

Alternative Freedom (2006) is a documentary film that explores copyright and intellectual property laws in digital media.

Includes interviews with:

  • DJ Danger Mouse, Grey Album mashup maestro
  • Professor Lawrence Lessig, author of Free Culture
  • Andrew “Bunnie” Huang, author of Hacking the Xbox
  • Richard Stallman, Free Software Foundation president
  • Jason Schultz, Electronic Frontier Foundation staff attorney
  • Adam “Doseone” Drucker, underground rapper

The screening is free and open to the public. Free snacks and drinks will be provided; feel free to BYOB. Donations will be accepted to support the Civic Media Center.
