Student forum on IT reorganization

A student forum has been organized regarding the IT reorganization plan. This should be an excellent opportunity to learn about what’s going on, share ideas, and voice concerns. I highly encourage everyone to attend.

Updates on UF IT reorganization

On March 6, UF announced the creation of a Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the university. (Here’s the memo.) Dr. Marc Hoit, former interim Associate Provost for IT, has been appointed interim CIO.

The March edition of IT Connections, the Office of IT’s newsletter, has an open letter from Dr. Hoit discussing the reorganization.

See also this document, dated March 9, discussing “myths and facts about the reorganization”.

We’ll continue to keep our eye on the reorganization, working to ensure that the changes serve not only UF, but also further free culture and our commitments to sustainability, development, and freedom. Watch this page for updates.
