Gavin’s Wednesday column in the Alligator is about MGM v. Grokster this week. This is definitely a topic of interest to Free Culture members. You can read the column here.

It just got a lot easier to search for Creative Commons content. Yahoo! has unveiled a specialized version of its search engine that only searches for content released under a Creative Commons license. Creative Commons Search even lets users limit results to particular licenses.
It’s great to have massive internet company like Yahoo! get behind Creative Commons.
Here’s what the candidates for Gainesville city commission have told us in response to our questionnaire:
(P.S. Elections are next Tuesday, March 29. Please vote!)

We received three responses to our questionnaire of Student Government candidates: from independent Journalism candidate Stephanie Ruby, Progress VP candidate Adam Roberts, and Impact presidential candidate Dennis Ngin.

Another incentive for being involved with Florida Free Culture: Creative Commons is offering a paid internship for a student involved with a Free Culture group. This sounds like a great way for CC to find knowledgeable interns and build experience among tomorrow’s graduates. One Lessig brainchild looking out for another… (Except that FreeCulture.org was founded independently of Lessig, despite borrowing his book’s name.) Anyway, here’s the scoop:
Free Culture Marketing/Media Internship
This internship is open to students involved in their colleges’ Free Culture club. Creative Commons is currently accepting resumes from those students interested in interning in the San Francisco office. This paid internship will focus on a grass roots effort, and/or media development to encourage the reuse of content. Duties will also include working on a “street team” campaign to other Free Culture club members.
This position will be offered to a non-law student.
Internship terms:
Compensation
Creative Commons does offer compensation for internships. If your school offers a stipend for internships, this factor is figured into the compensation.
